SECOM Resource Center Pantry Manager

Title: Nonprofit Pantry Manager
Type:Part-time (26-28 hrs/wk)
Schedule: 8:00 am-4:00 pm Tues, Wed and 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Friday; other hours have flexibility
Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director
Job Summary: Provide day-to-day oversight of the SECOM’s Healthy Food Pantry; inventory management and delivery coordination of Pantry food and supplies; supervision of daily Pantry volunteers; connecting Neighbors with internal and external resources; implementing best practices to promote healthy food security and empowerment; maintaining beneficial food sourcing practices; establishing and building relationships with local Pantry donors and partner agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Daily Pantry Responsibilities (65% - 20 hrs/wk)
1. Open and close Pantry
2. Oversee and manage healthy food sourcing and inventory
3. Supervise and support Pantry and warehouse volunteers
4. Work in collaboration with Neighborhood Services Coordinator to ensure effective, fair and equitable food programs delivery
5. Provide advocacy and referral services for Neighbors as needed
B. Coordinate with agencies, volunteers and stores to secure healthy food and steward food donors (20% - 7 hrs/wk)

5. Local farmers
C. Administrative (10% - 4 hrs/wk)
1. Maintain accurate Pantry service records utilizing Virtual Case Management database (VCM training required and will be provided)
2. Provide required Pantry reporting to Executive Director, SECOM Board of Directors, and applicable food sources (Feeding America, TEFAP, etc)
3. Complete annual Pantry related trainings and inspections regarding inputs & reporting, food sourcing & distribution and health standards
4. Post signage, send email and text communications as needed regarding Pantry closures and altered services (as necessary)
5. Administer Pantry surveys to assess Neighbor experience and preferences
D. Community/Collaborative Involvement (5% - 2 hrs/wk)
1. Serve as Pantry Network representative
2. Support and promote community engagement initiatives
Qualifications:
A. Fluency in both English and Spanish; verbal (preferred), written (preferred)
B. Passionate about the vision of a food system in which healthy and affordable food is available to all
C. Ability to guide and work with persons of diverse ages, races, cultures and economic status
D. Ability to work flexible hours as needed (occasional)
E. Strong organizational, record keeping and time management skills (required)
F. Professionalism in working with staff, volunteers and Neighbors
G. Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect confidential information
H. Culturally competent with willingness to continue growing in this area
I. Team player who seeks to make a positive impact
J. Great communicator
K. Competency in Microsoft Word applications (required); Google apps (preferred); Past experience working in a program database
L. Supportive of SECOM’s Commitment to Diversity
M. Able to lift up to 30 lbs, stand for extended periods of time
N. Valid driver’s license
Education and Experience:
A. High School diploma (required); Associates degree or higher (preferred)
B. Experience working or volunteering in a food pantry
C. Experience in programs serving persons with basic needs
D. Two or more years working or volunteering in a nonprofit organization and/or administrative or program capacity
Primary Benefits: If Full-time: paid vacation, sick leave & personal leave, holiday pay, group health and dental insurance (employee only).
If Part-time: paid PTO, not eligible for health or dental insurance.
