EDI Software Engineer
Position Summary
The EDI team assists in automating business processes and manages administrative information for MSU units by providing solution design, development, implementation, and system support. The team also consults on vendor selection and implementation for MSU departments and units.
Reporting to the Enterprise Development and Integration Manager, the Enterprise Development and Integration Software Engineer will execute the full software development lifecycle. Primary duties for the position include:
- Develop technical solutions using requirements and technical design documents.
- Execute software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
- Write well-designed, testable code.
- Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
- Document and maintains software functionality.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and enhances existing systems.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Bachelor’s degree; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in designing, building, and testing Java EE applications; knowledge of popular Java frameworks; experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD); experience designing and building databases; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with Spring and Struts frameworks; experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle; experience with Red Hat JBoss Application Server; experience with automated testing frameworks; experience with Bamboo or similar CI/CD tools; experience translating requirements between clients and development teams; strong and clear written and verbal communication skills; enthusiastic about giving and receiving feedback.
