Women's Outreach and Advancement Coordinator VISTA

As the Women’s Outreach and Advancement Coordinator VISTA at Women of the World, your goal will be to produce effective strategies, policies, and procedures for future staff members to utilize in fulfilling WoW’s responsibilities in respect to their three programs of Community Development, Customized Service, and Economic Empowerment. To support these efforts, you will focus on developing resources and pathways for volunteer management, community partnerships, social media management, client-focused entrepreneur and career advancement capacity development, and event marketing. The ideal candidate will have interest in refugee services, community outreach, volunteer management, and organizational capacity building. The VISTA will research and consolidate resources for community outreach and volunteer engagement, create training and evaluation pathways for organization staff, and develop community partnerships to offer clients access to comprehensive, high-quality empowerment services. The VISTA member's work will directly impact Women of the World's capacity to serve women from all nations through customized service, economic empowerment, and community development. The Women’s Community Outreach and Advancement VISTA is one of ten AmeriCorps VISTA members involved in the Utah Refugee VISTA Project (URVP). Our VISTAs serve at six sites across the Salt Lake Valley, but still work closely with one another. URVP VISTAs can expect professional development, mentorship, and support from AmeriCorps and their host organizations. Serving in Salt Lake City, there is always something new to do! From international film festivals to cultural celebrations and abundant access to year-round outdoor recreation, there's something for everyone. Member Duties : Further WoW’s Community Development Initiative, a volunteer-supported effort designed to help displaced women interact with the broader Utah community, learn skills to use their voices, and make new friends while learning. Collaborate with staff to develop an outreach and engagement strategy to connect with volunteers, clients, and donors. Create and strengthen resources to empower each woman in using her voice to advocate for herself, her family, and her future through the lenses of empowerment, entrepreneurship, continued employment and housing. Foster and develop partnerships with local community partners to increase women’s access and understanding of local services and resources.
