Food Club

Food Club is a membership-based grocery store that provides choice, flexibility, and access to healthy foods along with membership perks and support at the Opportunity Hub. Qualifying low-income residents opt in by purchasing a membership, which provides food access at more convenient hours, all in a bright and inviting grocery-store style space staffed by volunteers.

Volunteer roles at the Food Club include: checkout station, food stocking & sorting, checking produce, driving our trucks, and many more!

Community Kitchen

The Community Kitchen serves hot meals, seven days a week, to everyone needing a meal.
Delivered through a partnership with Western Theological Seminary, the Community Kitchen provides a place to identify the needs and struggles of our most vulnerable neighbors while providing them with a free meal.

Volunteering at the Community Kitchen may help prepare food, assemble meals, serve meals to guests, and help clean up after meal service - no prior cooking or restaurant experience is required. As long as you have a passion for serving, and an interest in food, we can teach the rest!

Resale Store

Our Resale Store's primary mission is to financially support the programs of Community Action House. The proceeds generated by resale donations allow CAH staff to spend more time doing what they do best: feeding the hungry, preventing foreclosure and evictions, offering educational classes to help build prosperity, and empowering individuals to end the cycle of generational poverty.

Volunteer tasks at the Resale Store include sorting donations, repairing items (electronics, bikes, furniture), building packaged furniture, pricing items, running the cash register, and stocking items for sale in the store.

Refresh: Hygiene and Hope

Refresh is a unique and collaborative partnership between CAH and First United Methodist Church of Holland to provide showers to persons experiencing homelessness, along with access to services, case management, personal care items and clothing, mail collection, haircuts, and a light meal.

Volunteers are needed during program hours to distribute shower necessities (towel, shampoo, soap), help prepare and provide a meal to guests, and help create a safe, welcoming, and high-dignity environment for all.
