General Description – Oversee facility operations with the Lansing School District at the request of the Superintendent, making sure that health and safety standards are met and arranging for repairs when needed. Ensures that all buildings are safe and that all equipment and devices operate properly
Minimum Qualifications
• BS in Facility Management or Business Administration is preferred
• Work experience in Facilities or similar role
• Certification as a facility manager is a plus
• Understanding of safety regulations in offices and schools
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Facilitates building projects that are directed by the Superintendent
• Coordinates with our Director of Operations, Bond Sinking Fund, Energy Project Representatives and SodexoMagic representatives and external vendors.
• Coordinates facilities work orders for timely completion
• Check devices, structures and systems to identify and prioritize needs for repairs and renovations.
• Able to prioritize multiple issues and be well organized
• Conduct cost analyses for purchases
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Performs other related duties as assigned
Physical Demands
• Must be able to perform work in a variety of working conditions
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
• Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to access equipment and buildings
• Knowledge of basic maintenance or repair
• Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities
• Access to a personal vehicle as traveling throughout the district will be necessary
