AmeriCorps VISTA-Youth Impact Coordinator

Goal of the Overall VISTA Project: Develop mechanisms for youth, parents, and youth serving organizations to access resources that enhance the skill sets of individuals and assist them with being successful in school and/or work. Assist with developing solutions to decrease the opportunity gaps faced by youth in Michigan. VISTA Member will enhance project success by supporting your host site team members in their work while working in partnership with the project supervisor on project management tasks. Promote youth volunteerism and mentorship to improve young lives. 

Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written
  • Demonstrated use of office software programs including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office programs
  • Public relations and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently support planning, development, and establishment of new programs
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.

This an AmeriCorps national service opportunity that is sponsored by the Michigan Community Service Commission (MCSC). AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) is seeking new members age 18 or older to join in the national war combating poverty in America. In exchange for one year of full-time service you will receive:
  • Annual living allowance of $15,000
  • Health Insurance
  • End of service award of $6,195 in college funding or Cash stipend $1,800
