Camp Sunshine Counselor
Camp Sunshine has been providing an overnight camp experience to teens and adults with cognitive/developmental disabilities since 1983. Each year, the success of camp has relied on dedicated volunteers, especially our counselors. Campers and counselors have a 1:1 pairing for the duration of camp! Each day is carefully planned with traditional camp activities like ropes courses or other physical activities, arts and crafts, swimming and water activities, spiritual lessons and music, meals together, and of course, a campfire with s’mores!
This year, Camp Sunshine is offering a three day/two night and a four day/three night camp session at both Camp Blodgett (West Olive) and Camp Henry (Newaygo) Michigan. We’re recruiting students at your school to join us for camp – this experience is perfect for students in education or human service areas of study, but everyone is eligible to apply! We’re seeking dedicated, compassionate individuals who are interested in serving as counselors and ready to experience the transformation - and joy - that Camp Sunshine offers!

Required Counselor Training Session: June 4
Session 1: Two-night Overnight Camp (Sunday, June 5 - Tuesday, June 7)
Session 2: Three-night Overnight Camp (Wednesday, June 8 - Saturday, June 11)
Camp Blodgett
Required Counselor Training Session: June 27
Session 1: Two-night Overnight Camp (Tuesday, June 28 - Thursday, June 30)
Session 2: Three-night Overnight Camp (Friday, July 1 - Monday, July 4)
