Digital Marketing Intern

However, when it is deemed safe and necessary per our leadership for our staff to come back to our campus in Okemos, MI, it may be required for any incoming staff to do the same. Someone interested in this role would need to be able to adapt to the current remote environment need, and future on-campus environment need in order to be considered for the role.


Position Overview:

The Digital Marketing intern will work within the TechSmith marketing department to understand and execute upon digital marketing strategies that drive ecommerce activity and growth. This position will be exposed to several facets of Digital Marketing with the opportunity to make valuable contributions to our digital marketing workflows.
The Digital Marketing Intern will work side-by-side with other Marketing team members to analyze data to guide future decisions and digital campaigns. Example responsibilities for this role include digital advertising research, campaign creation and optimization, and post-launch campaign monitoring and reporting. The Digital Marketing Intern may also conduct website content updates, email production, and organic search research and optimization.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial research on advertising opportunities to understand cost and coordinate next steps
  • Keyword, audience, and creative research for campaign set up
  • Update website and landing page content to support strategic initiatives
  • Develop email, advertising, or web content as needed
  • Monitor campaign performance and report on results
  • Review website analytics to understand attribution and impact of each digital marketing tactic
  • Update purchaser lists for Google Display Network and Facebook advertising
  • Work directly with outside partners to achieve advertising objectives
  • Actively participate in digital marketing and ecommerce strategy brainstorming meetings
  • Learn and follow TechSmith brand guidelines to ensure all content and creative is aligned to the brand
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills and Background: 

  • Professional background or experience in Digital Marketing required, which could include one of the following: paid search, paid social advertising, email production, or website production / optimization.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (or equivalents) required
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in a team environment
  • Ability to write and speak in a professional manner appropriate for outside partner-facing situations
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student 
  • Must be willing to work 15-20 hours per week


Preferred Skills and Background:

  • Professional background or experience in Digital Advertising preferred, which could include paid campaigns on Google, Bing, Facebook, LinkedIn, or YouTube.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google AdWords, or Facebook Ads Manager.
  • Familiarity with advanced uses of Microsoft Excel (or equivalent) (ex. pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
  • Detail oriented with an eye for creative design
  • Ability to understand and code basic HTML as it relates to emails or web updates
  • Experience working within a CMS


Compensation and Perks:

Competitive pay based on skills and experience. This is an hourly position with TechSmith Corporation. Hours are based on a consensus between you and your supervisor. We require a minimum of 15 hours per week; however, hours are limited to 20 hours per week.
