P2100180 - Student Solutions and Special Student Population Coordinator - Registrar

Position Summary:
The University at Buffalo, Office of the Registrar seeks a Student Solutions and Special Populations Coordinator that is passionate about providing exceptional, holistic student service as well as supporting the University’s special student populations. The Student Solutions and Special Student Population Coordinator will be a member of the newly formed Student Success Team in the Office of the Registrar, redesigning our approach to customer service. 
The student success specialist will provide concierge-style student service via phone, email and in person. This individual will advise students on Registrar and university policies and procedures, assist students with navigating challenges, and connect students with other offices as appropriate. This Specialist will understand, enforce and advise students on academic policies and will update student records in the student information system (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions). This position reports to the Assistant Registrar for Customer Service.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
  •  Contribute to student success and retention by providing excellent customer service in person and via phone and email.
  • Coordinate the Undergraduate non-degree application process and communications, the Sixty and Over Auditor’s program, the SUNY and WNY cross-registration program and UUP waiver process.
  • Utilize the student information system (Peoplesoft Campus Solutions) to perform needed transactional updates to student records.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across campus to ensure consistent and cohesive student service.
  • Specialize in customer service related the non-degree student population.
  • Perform transactions within the following areas: enrollment, cross registration, degree conferral, diplomas, transcripts, academic withdrawal, degree applicable credit and provide customer service to address common student questions.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, 0-1 years customer or student service experience and competencies in the following areas:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically advanced knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel including experience creating and maintaining spreadsheets and related formulas. 
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with diverse populations. 
  • Must be exceedingly well organized, detail-oriented, flexible, possess a strong sense of accountability and be self-motivated. 
  • Must be able to work independently and exhibit good judgment. Must be able to effectively prioritize workload while ensuring multiple simultaneous projects are completed within expected deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • More than 1 year professional work experience in a higher education setting.
  • More than 1 year working with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
