World Language Teacher
Position: High School French/Spanish Teacher Job Posting ID: 2065
Location: High School Reports To: Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Well-versed in best practice instruction methods
- Exceptional passion for teaching and learning
- Highly Qualified to teach secondary students at all grade levels
- Exceptional use of technology as a teaching tool
- High aptitude for forming positive relationships with colleagues, students and parent
REQUIREMENTS:
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences.
- Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Highest level of integrity and professionalism both in and out of the school
- Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports
- Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day
- Flexibility in schedule and teaching methods
- Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals focused on student achievement
- Additional foreign language or other endorsements are preferred.
CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with at least one of the following endorsements:
- FA/FS World Language
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This anticipated position is a regular, 1.0 FTE position. It will be MPSERS-eligible and fall under the GEA Master Agreement for salary and benefits.
