Bilingual Healthcare Navigator/Paralegal
Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid (MMLA) is seeking a full-time, Spanish-speaking healthcare navigator/paralegal to work as part of a dynamic team helping with community outreach and assisting residents of Central Minnesota with affordable healthcare enrollment. This position will be based in our St. Cloud office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply the principles of MMLA’s Racial Justice Values Statement in all interactions
- Work within a team of healthcare navigators to assist consumers across a 12-county region of Central Minnesota
- Participate in community outreach and education activities
- Assist local residents with a variety of healthcare issues, including: providing resources, completing applications and program renewals, and responding to program notices and requirements
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fluency in both English AND Spanish required
- Must pass a criminal background check - a requirement for MNsure Navigator certification
- Concern for the needs and rights of people from low-income backgrounds
- Ability to collaborate with a team to provide high-quality service to our clients
- Ability to travel within Central Minnesota to outreach and enrollment sites
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office required
- Diverse economic, social, or cultural experiences preferred
SALARY: Starting at $32,569 (Year 1 on our Legal Assistant salary line), plus benefits
