Job Summary
Reporting to the HR Records Supervisor, you will maintain and audit human resources and benefit information for our employees, benefit eligible students, retirees, survivors and COBRA participants. You will analyze system data to answer escalated employee questions related to their employment and benefits information. An area of your work is aligning policies, guidelines and eligibility rules with requested changes and following transaction processing procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier III customer support by using your natural curiosity to solve customer problems with a focus on high-quality experiences
  • Interpret organizational policies to address our customer needs, process exceptions and audit system data
  • Understand plan changes and how they might affect benefits administration
  • Manage complex benefit transactions including union contract language
  • Use your analytical skills to solve the right problem
  • Consult with customers and teams by phone and email
  • Develop relationships and work with diverse teams across the organization
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of applying benefits policies in a complex organization
  • 3+ years of records management experience in a core HR platform (PeopleSoft)
  • Intermediate to expert level proficiency in interpreting HR and Benefits policies
  • Intermediate proficiency in excel (can perform complex functions)
  • Obtain knowledge in U of M policies and procedures
  • Passion for high-quality customer service
