POSITION:
           Part-Time Elementary Title I Teacher 
LOCATION:
         St. Patrick’s School - grades K-3
 
The Title I Teacher will provide intervention and supplementary instruction to
individual students or small groups of students identified as needing targeted
academic assistance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
1.   Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate grade level endorsement K-5 all subjects.
2.   Highly Qualified to teach K-5 as per Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirements.
 ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
1.   Reading Endorsement
2.  Practical Knowledge of MiBLSi, PBiS, and MTSS
3.   Experience with reading assessments including DIBELS
4.   Knowledge of Michigan Common Core Standards
5.   Knowledge of and ability to use technology to enhance instructional practice
6.   Exceptional skills in planning, delivering and assessing student learning
7.   Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building collegial
relationships with students, parents, and colleagues 
8.   Demonstrate knowledge of how to provide effective and engaging instruction in a variety of settings (whole group, small group, individual and collaborative)
9.   Ability to differentiate instruction for students of varying abilities while maintaining
high academic rigor and expectations for all students
10. Demonstrate strong classroom management skills with the use of positive behavior interventions
11. Demonstrate professional work habits and conduct consistent with the ethics of the
profession
12. Willingness to supervise or direct student activities
 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1.   Salary and benefits in accordance with the Master Agreement between the Portland
Public Schools Board of Education and the Portland Education Association.
2.   Position is funded by the Title I, Part A grant and is contingent on receipt of grant
funds.  Daily/weekly schedule is dependent on the amount of available
grant funds and coordination with the St. Patrick’s School.
