Jayhawk Hub Coordinator (One Year Appointment)

Job Description

This position will be one year appointment. 
 
General Description:
Guide and support students, parents, faculty, and staff as needed in navigating college policies, procedures, and resources. Educate students regarding their rights and responsibilities as a member of the college community. 
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Services, Social work, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Experience working with a dynamic, diverse, and engaged student population, both individually and in groups; experience working with individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences.
  3. Experience managing complex situations and prefer with students, parents, staff, faculty, and community members.
  4. Experience managing multiple and competing priorities.
  5. Demonstrated ability to relate to people of all ages, races, and social-economic backgrounds.
  6. High proficiency in demonstration of office technology, software, & equipment. Ability and willingness to upgrade skills including technology or process changes. 
  7. Demonstrated use of tact, judgement and discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  8. Highly motivated and solution oriented with a high degree of integrity, ethics and dedication to the mission of the college.
Essential Function:
  1. Provide direct support services and referrals to students through the care report system.
  2. Serve on the Care Team as a core member.
  3. Contribute to the functions of the Student Success Department through support of its administrative, student support, and crisis prevention functions.
  4. Sustain and expand upon current Student Success Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and engages in effective practices intended to support students.
  5. Receive triaged Care Reports and review them with designated campus and community partners for support and response. 
  6. Provide support to students with navigating impacts and effects by meeting with them to discuss options and collaboratively create potential next steps.
  7. Analyze and review case data to identify trends, concerns, and hotspots and elevates issues to appropriate campus units for improvements.
  8. Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with various campus partners in order to successfully navigate student challenges, and act as a liaison when needed. 
  9. Represent Jayhawk Hub by attending various meetings including campus committees as well as other relevant teams and meetings.
  10. Provide documentation and summary reports on support efforts.
  11. Create and distribute marketing materials by working with marketing and communication department for all mediums including web, portal, social media etc.
  12. Lead the Jayhawk Hub Advisory Committee
  13. Responsible for the coordination of the campus food pantry as well as ordering of merchandise and partnering with community organizations for support.
  14. Provide a safe listening space in which to offer compassion, support, and guidance to students.
  15. Teach/coach students to develop and demonstrate problem solving and self-advocacy skills.
