VISTA - City of Tempe: Sustainability Office
Join the City of Tempe to launch a unique form of student engagement that develops leaders & helps create a better quality of life for those disproportionately affected by climate change! Along with the City Office of Sustainability the successful applicant will help empower youth to make their communities more sustainable and become leaders in Tempe’s green economy by developing a program structure that creates a green job pipeline. This position will offer a unique experience to network and learn city processes along with insight into heat equity research developed by ASU. The successful applicant should: be able to demonstrate an awareness and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds; and have experience building, nurturing and maintaining diverse and effective collaborations. Preferred but not required: Spanish proficiency; experience working with underserved Tempe populations; knowledge of the valley's sustainability programs/community.
