VISTA - City of Phx: Sustainability Office
Join the nation’s 5th largest city to launch a unique form of student engagement that develops leaders & helps create a better quality of life for those disproportionately affected by climate change! Along with the City of Phoenix Sustainability team the VISTA member will grow and expand a “first-of-its-kind” unique form of student engagement aimed at developing sustainability leaders, improving civic participation and sustainability literacy, while also preparing participants for future employment opportunities. The work will focus around K-12 students at partner Title I schools. The successful applicant should be: skilled in cultural diversity, empathetic, creative, passionate about sustainability and working with youth. Preferred but not required: Spanish proficiency; knowledge of, or experience working with, underserved Phoenix populations; knowledge of valley sustainability programs/community.
