2021 -2022 HealthNet of Rock County Development Associate VISTA
As a VISTA Member at HealthNet of Rock County in Janesville, WI you will gain professional experience by working to help HealthNet provide high quality comprehensive health care to those in need with a focus on expanding access to healthcare for those without insurance or who are under-insured by: creating and improving upon marketing and outreach materials, research and implement creative ways to thank donors, analyzing data to more effectively utilize software for fundraising purposes, helping to build and maintain partnerships with schools, coalitions and other community organizations, developing clinic policies and procedures, growing HealthNet’s volunteer pool, grant-writing/fundraising, helping to achieve and maintain the Standards of Excellence, continuing to develop HealthNet’s outreach via social media and more.

AmeriCorps VISTA was founded at the same time as the Peace Corps with a similar goal in mind: to combat poverty domestically. As such, it is a volunteer program structured around year long contracts where one receives a monthly living stipend, is eligible for free health insurance, and at the end of a volunteer’s year of service, have the option of an 1,800 dollar cash payout or a 6,345 dollar education award. Our WAFCC team feels fortunate to be working with the VISTA program to help provide recent graduates with an interest in the healthcare field an opportunity to learn more about a free clinic or health department environment as well as shadowing and other resume building opportunities so we can ensure you're successful with whatever your next steps may be.
