Information Technology Internship
Primary Responsibilities
Assist the IT support staff in fixing, collecting, and distributing IT assets to complete daily support tickets. Play a major part in maintaining and auditing our Inventory Tracking System. Assist IT in managing vendor support of cell phone and tablet repairs. Experience different aspects and functions of a working IT environment.
Project(s)
The intern’s primary project will include learning how to gather specific information from various IT hardware components and configuring the information into the Inventory Tracking System. This project will give the intern exposure to various hardware components such as thin clients, Hilo computers, laptop, phones, etc. as well as providing experience with integrated logical design of using multiple systems together for focused output.
Secondary Responsibilities
Assist IT in resolving IT related issues focusing on Roskam’s plant locations and common scenarios. The intern will gain hands on experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing devices in the field. Additionally, the intern will gain experience working directly with the users of IT hardware and systems.
Qualifications/Skills
The intern will need to have experience working with various hardware equipment and software systems, although specific skills are not required as all equipment and systems are similar yet unique. Having the right attitude and ability to dive in and figure settings and configurations out, will be a key skill.
