The San Francisco Department of the Environment is hiring two Environmental Education Outreach Aides, and two Environmental Education Outreach Program Associates

Are you interested in helping children and youth achieve climate justice? Do you have a passion for engaging students on environmental issues? If so, we invite you to take advantage of an opportunity to use your skills to build a better future for San Francisco.

As a 9920 Environmental Aide or 9922 Program Associate, you’ll work in an entry-level role designed to offer you exposure to a career pathway in environmental education, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. You’ll learn and grow on the job, building foundational experience in environmental education while meeting designated position objectives.

You’ll gain knowledge of environmental education outreach skills, environmental behavior-change strategies, public speaking, classroom-based and outdoor teaching opportunities, and program administration. Knowledge and experience gained will position you for success as an environmental educator and outreach professional equipped to serve San Francisco’s K-12 public and private schools—plus career advancement opportunities in related fields.
