Intern Job Description
Position Summary
The position of Intern with the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE) is one of moderate responsibility. The Intern is responsible for completing a specified project that will help further the institutional goals of CORE. 
 
Scope of Responsibility
The Intern reports directly to the manager of the project He/she is taking part in. The Intern will be responsible for completing the goals of the project in a timely manner. The intern will also be responsible for executing the responsibilities of the entire project within the specified time period of the internship. During the Internship, the Intern must communicate with CORE team members to make the project function successfully. He/She must have great attention to detail. He/she must have sound computer knowledge and be able to work with multiple different software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite. While supporting the specified team, the Intern, may be assigned other job-related functions by the project manager.
 
Job Qualifications
The Intern should be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a four year college or university. The Intern should be interested in the Healthcare field, it is preferred if the candidate has a strong interest in the mission and values of CORE. The Intern will be expected to work thirty to forty hours a week for a specified period of time (twelve weeks), and will report to the CORE offices at 204 Sigma Drive, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, 15238. He/She must have the ability to work in a sometimes hectic office environment. He/She must be a critical thinker, and be able solve problems efficiently. He/She must be detail oriented. He/She should have sound judgment and be able to get along with all types of individuals. He/She must have demonstrated professional commitment. He/she must demonstrate a commitment to CORE’s mission and administrative philosophy, a strong work ethic and a commitment to the overall organ, tissue, and eye donation program.
 
Project Objectives:
 
1.      General administrative activities for the project. 
2.      Perform gap analysis and comparison on lists of suppliers from two different electronic systems.
3.      Perform gap analysis on supplier qualification records.
4.      Facilitate the retrieval of supplier qualification surveys from suppliers. 
5.      Update the electronic system with qualification records.
6.      Review contracts to identify deliverables.
7.      Flow contract deliverables into electronic system
