Behavior Intervention Specialist

Total Education Solutions (TES) is a leading national provider of outsourced special education and therapeutic services to public, private, and charter schools as well as healthcare organizations throughout California, Michigan, and Ohio. Our professional, multi-disciplinary staff delivers therapeutic services in our family-centered clinics, in schools, at home, and on-line. We also provide a variety of support and management services to the non-profit Institute for the Redesign of Learning.
We are currently seeking a proactive and positive Registered Behavior Therapist to provide support for Special Education children within a Clinic, and Home setting at our Flint location
Environment Characteristics: Assigned work environments vary from site to site. The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee may encounter, and include a noise level that is usually moderate to loud. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. The work environment is usually comprised of several adults and children in a classroom or campus facility.
General Description: Provides 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders under the supervision of the BCBA Supervisor.
Position Qualifications:
  • Applicants must have completed 60 Credits of college coursework or passed Workkeys Test. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree and/or two years experience with developmental disabilities will be given priority.
  • Registered Behavior Therapist Certification required.
  • Ability to meet and interact with parents and clients with tact, courtesy, and discretion.
  • A current background check through the FBI and the State of Michigan must be submitted.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift/transfer students/consumers and equipment.
  •  Frequent and prolonged bending, stooping, crouching, walking and standing.
  • Perform physical management with students, e.g., prompt students, and escort students.
