The Role:

Hinton Transportation Investments, Inc. (HTI) is an international leader in the Heavy-Duty Truck and Trailer Parts and Service industry. HTI is actively seeking a full-time Safety Coordinator/Manager to join the human resources team. The position will be located at our corporate office in Byron Center, MI and will report to the HR Director. In this role you will handle all safety, vehicle, and injury related duties for 500+ employees with the support of the HR Team. This position has the potential to lead to future growth opportunities as the company continues to steadily expand.
 

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a confident, self-starter that is ready to join our team and make an impact. Our ideal candidate will come in and be able to evaluate all of our current safety practices and expand on them using knowledge from past education, experience, and/or training. A Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Safety is highly preferred to bring a high level of knowledge and a fresh perspective to better serve the organization. However, 2+ years of work experience may be considered.
The ideal candidate will be someone that is detail oriented, self-motivated, and not afraid to offer and implement new ideas. Ultimately, the chosen candidate will be someone that has been directly involved with, or educated on, the creation of safety practices, safety training of employees, and is familiar with OSHA standards and practices specifically within transportation, warehousing, and office environments.  The company’s values and safety expectations are to be held to the highest standards, and we expect our candidate to well represent the face of HTI.  
 

Responsibilities and Duties:

·        Improve and implement new safety practices in all facets of the business
·        Investigate, report, and track all vehicle accidents and workplace injuries
·        Suggest and introduce practical changes that will help prevent, reduce, or eliminate future accidents
·        Create and distribute valuable weekly safety topics
·        Act as the Chairperson of the company’s Safety Committee and be responsible for monthly safety meetings
·        Analyze safety data and recommend points of improvement
·        OSHA reporting
·        Other duties and responsibilities as directed
 
Compensation: This is a salary position with competitive pay based upon experience. $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year.
