Human Resources Business Partner

The HR Business Partner will support the Club’s overall strategy by ensuring HR policies and procedures fit the needs and goals of the organization and leadership. Responsibilities include but are not limited to recruitment, training, facilitating workplace culture, employee relations and assisting with benefits.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Recruit, interview, and recommend candidates to fill vacant positions. Administer the hiring process, including preparing job descriptions, obtaining management approvals for positions, posting as necessary, conducting background/reference checks, and preparing offer letters.
  • Manage onboarding for new hires, promotions and job changes within an assigned group. Conduct orientations, complete new hire paperwork and provide additional support for new employees.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date human resource information system (Workday) and paper records (if needed) of all transactions, including salary and organizational changes, benefit enrollments, performance reviews, compliance issues, etc.
  • Serve as initial point of contact for employee relations issues; investigate and resolve employee issues on a timely basis; coordinate investigations with supervisors as needed; communicate with the union on employee issues as needed, and respond to union information requests. Notify Director – HR, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion of all employee relations issues and assist in carrying out any employee relations initiatives.
  • Respond to employee’s or supervisor’s inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
  • Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Assist in administering benefits programs, such as health, vacation, sick leave, and leaves of absence.
  • Ensure all sites comply with state, federal and local requirements, including employment policies and procedures, compensation and benefits, employee relations issues, worker’s compensation, employment posting requirements, and other recordkeeping.
  • Coordinate employee events and employee appreciation activities.
  • Support employee training needs by listening to employee feedback and reviewing performance evaluations to ensure training and development needs are being addressed. Assist with the development and facilitation of employee training sessions.
  • May manage interns and assist with other MBBC projects, as needed. Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
 
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Computer Skills  
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing and Spreadsheet software. Experience in Workday preferred.
 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certification in SHRM desirable but not required.
 
Other Skills and Abilities                                             
Fluency in Spanish preferred.
 
Other Qualifications                                                    
Must be able to travel on occasion for conferences, employee meetings, etc.
 
Language Skills                                                
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
 
Mathematical Skills                                                     
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
 
Reasoning Ability      
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Hours                                                     
Business hours are Monday – Friday 9 am – 5pm, however, additional hours may be required on weekends, evenings and some holidays.
