School Psychologist- 2022/23 School Year

Salary determination is dependent on qualifications; education and experience. Master level: $66,252 to $99,955.

Position to be located with the Lewis County Special Education Cooperative (LCSEC) in Adna, WA or at locations within the Capital Region ESD 113 Region.

The job of School Psychologist is done for the purpose/s of measuring and interpreting the intellectual, adaptive, academic, social and emotional development of children; interpreting results of psychological studies; interpreting and applying state and federal codes; and developing strategies and interventions to address the special education needs of eligible students.






Essential Functions

Administers occupational therapy procedures and modalities at a variety of sites for the purpose of ensuring achievement of program objectives.
 
Collaborates with a variety of groups and individuals (e.g. parents, teachers, physicians, administration, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues, and providing services in compliance with established guidelines and regulations.
 
Develops processes (e.g. treatment plans, interventions, instruction, evaluations, etc.) for the purpose of providing effective programs for remediating students' motor skill deficits, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, supporting sensory processing, and supporting life skills acquisition.
 
Directs the work of assigned COTAs and OT Assistants for the purpose of providing guidance and ensuring achievement of program objectives.
 
Facilitates meetings for the purpose of presenting evaluation results and expected outcomes, identifying barriers, and ensuring achievement of state mandates.
 
Integrates specialized education plan with the K-12 learning environment (e.g. specialized assistance for students, parents and guardian training, etc.) for the purpose of assisting students in achieving learning goals set forth in the Individual Education Plans (IEP) while complying with required guidelines and regulations.
 
Interprets medical reports for the purpose of providing information and ensuring that treatment and intervention plans are appropriate.
 
Maintains files and records (e.g. progress reports, activity logs, billing information, treatment plans, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of information as required for reference and compliance.
 
Manages special materials, equipment, and learning environment essentials for specialized programs for the purpose of providing materials and equipment conducive for student achievement and ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment while complying with District, State, and Federal guidelines and regulations.
 
Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g. training, IEPs, team meetings, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and gathering information.
 
Performs site visits at multiple work sites including home visits for the purpose of providing direct therapy interventions and assistance as required.
 
Pursues professional development opportunities for the purpose of ensuring professional growth.

Researches resources and methods (e.g. intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) for the purpose of determining the appropriate approach for addressing students' functional goals.
 
Responds to inquiries (e.g. parents, teachers, staff, students, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and referral.
 






Other Functions

Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
 
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
