Strategic Initiatives Enterprise Risk Management Intern

The Strategic Initiatives Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Intern performs entry (entry- to routine-level) project work related to their field of study, business, ERM, and strategic planning. Work involves supporting agency operations with a primary focus on gaining practical work experience and business skills for personal development or to satisfy educational requirements. Works under close supervision with limited latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Benefits of a TRS Strategic Initiatives ERM internship: This is a paid, full-time position that offers interns the opportunity to gain substantive experience in ERM and strategic planning activities. Interns enjoy the chance to get training and mentoring from experienced professionals in one or more of these areas.
This position will start June and will end in August 2021.                         
Salary will depend upon education level:
Undergraduate Student (Junior or Senior): $13.50/hour
Graduate Student: $17.50/hour

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Strategic Initiatives 
• Assists with enterprise risk assessments, including documenting and updating software.
• Assists with preparing updates to the internal committee for strategic planning and risk management and the Strategic Planning Committee of the TRS Board of Trustees.
• Assists with identifying and assessing critical risks in support of agency strategic objectives.
• Assists with strategic planning and strategy quarterly progress updates, including documenting and updating software.
• Redesigning the ERM and Risk Oversight Committee webpages.
General Functions 
• Assists with researching, compiling, and analyzing data; entering data into spreadsheets, databases, and other automated applications; and preparing complex queries and reports.
• Assists with reviewing forms, correspondence, reports, and other documents for completeness and acceptability.
• Assists with reviewing and analyzing agency policies, procedures, and forms and recommending changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Assists with completing special projects.
Performs related work as assigned 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Education:
• Classification will depend on qualifications:
o Currently enrolled in and actively attending an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student with a declared major in a related field; OR
o Currently enrolled in and actively attending an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student with a declared major in a related field AND within 12 months of graduation; OR
o Enrolled as a graduate student (Master or Doctoral) in a related program.
