Portfolio Management Graduate Summer Intern

About the Program: The Life Science Graduate Internship Program is a 10-week remote working experience designed to identify the next generation of talent at MilliporeSigma. This program provides a unique opportunity within one of our business units or capabilities to develop strategic capabilities and build your business acumen in a supportive, team setting.
 
Those selected, will own a high impact project(s) and benefit from the experience of an executive mentor and the MilliporeSigma Talent and Development organization. You will also participate in a variety of activities to promote teamwork, social responsibility, and the development of both technical and interpersonal skills.
 
Your Role:
  • Define and conduct key portfolio analysis including R&D program spending, pipeline progress, and output
  • Contribute to the development of executive decks critical to the success of R&D – Board of Partners, Portfolio Review Innovation Board, and other key presentations. Development of a solid story line is critical for ensuring R&D is funded adequately. Ensures story is solid, and data is accurate
  • Report on a complex portfolio of programs and projects for Business Unit Review at the Research Portfolio Committee. Looks for best practices, proposes and implements improvements to reporting processes
  • Proactively support the identification and management of key stakeholders as needed for data support for dashboard and presentations development
  • Maintain regular and efficient communication, for project and portfolio, answering Business Field management requirements
  • Take initiative towards portfolio value optimization – highlights key trends, risks and improvement opportunities
 
Who You Are:
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Masters degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Business, or Science-related fields
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in using Excel as an analysis tool for manipulation of large data sets, vlookups, if-statements, etc.
  • Experience with basic coding (i.e. Python)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Ability to explain data through conversation and presentations
  • Passion, an entrepreneurial spirit, and willingness to have a curious mind to drive initiatives
  • Ability to absorb, understand, and structure large amounts of new information quickly
  • Highly motivated graduate student with a proven track record of academic excellence and a desire to work in the Life Science industry.
