ACE: Procurement and Administration Support Member

Summary:
American Conservation Experience (ACE), a nonprofit Conservation Corps, in partnership with the Bureau of Reclamation, Denver, Colorado, is seeking ONE Procurement Support Member for 26 weeks to assist in tasks related to management of the Department of the Treasury's Automated Standard Application for Payment (ASAP) system and other tasks related to Federal grants management. 

This opportunity is intended for enthusiastic professionals from all educational backgrounds. This is an opportunity for someone with an interest in learning about the Federal grant award process from the Federal perspective, as well as getting hands on experience with the system used for Federal grant fund distribution. 

Start Date: Late January/February 2021 
End Date:  June 2021 (possibility to extend depending on funding available)

Location: 
This position will work in the headquarters office of the Bureau of Reclamation located at the Denver Federal Center in Denver, Colorado. 
The position will be remote until in-person work is determined allowable by senior leadership.

Living Allowance: 
$300/wk. A typical workweek will be 3-5 hours/day, 3-4 days/week, pending further discussion. Housing is not provided. Member will be responsible for obtaining their own housing.

Position Description:
This position will serve as the Bureau of Reclamation's primary contact for the ASAP enrollment process. ASAP is used by Federal agencies to provide grant recipients with access to Federal funds awarded through a Federal grant. The duties of this position include:

  • Directly communicating with grant award recipients and providing guidance on the ASAP enrollment process.
  • Receiving ASAP enrollment forms.
  • Initiating enrollment within ASAP and tracking the recipient's progress.
  • Processing recipient payment requests and coordinating with grant management staff as appropriate.

Additional duties may be assigned depending on interest and ability which could include running various reports and monitoring compliance.

Training: 
Training will include on the job training provided by a team member. That team member will serve as the day-to-day contact for the position and will be available to provide assistance or support as needed. 

Qualifications: 
Applicants with degrees related to Business or Public Lands Management are encouraged to apply, but any degree will be considered. Resumes and cover letters must show detailed key project experiences. 

Required:

ACE Requirements
  • Members must be US citizen or Permanent Resident, as required to comply with U.S. government contracts
  • Members must be 18-30 (Applicants between 31 and 35 may be considered based on veteran status)
  • Ability and willingness to undergo a federal criminal background check is required
  • Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record with ability to provide required documentation; (Driving record checks will be completed during on-boarding process. (Members must be 21+ to drive ACE/Agency vehicles)
  • ACE is a drug free workplace and reserves the right to drug test at any time

Preferred Skills
  • Able to problem solve / think critically
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications
