Project Faulu
Our cornerstone K-12 support program for refugee students, Project Faulu focuses on STEM/STEAM, literacy, and socio-emotional well being. The program is designed specifically for refugee children whose cultural adjustments and past trauma can make learning difficult. Our goal is to prepare students for their classroom education and also supplement traditional education with one-on-one as well as peer support.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Commit to volunteering consistently on a weekly basis
- Work with one to four students per session
- Tutor K-12 students attending the Refugee Education Center, including:
- Providing homework assistance to students
- Reading with students after required work is completed
- Engaging students in learning activities such as games, puzzles, projects, creative assignments, worksheets, or any other appropriate activities
