The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is the nonprofit organization created by President Reagan himself and specifically charged by him with continuing his legacy and sharing his principles - individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy and national pride. The Foundation is a non-partisan organization which sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion and the award-winning Discovery Center, as well as the Reagan Institute, which carries out the Foundation’s work in Washington, D.C. The Reagan Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. It also serves as the final resting place of America’s 40th President and his First Lady.
  
Job Description
The Ronald Reagan Institute in Washington, DC is seeking an intern for the Summer 2020 months who can support diverse projects within various program areas. Interns will have the opportunity to work with a small team in a dynamic professional setting while earning college credit as determined by the intern’s university. Interns are expected to be agile in their working styles and able to execute complex projects. The internship program at the Reagan Institute in Washington, DC will coordinate with the internship program in Simi Valley, CA.

We are currently seeking interns to support work in the following capacities/projects:
●       Support for the following Reagan Institute centers: Center for Peace Through Strength, Center for Freedom and Democracy, and the Center for Civics, Education, and Opportunity
●       Administrative and outreach support for the Reagan Institute Summit on Education (RISE 2021)
●       Administrative and outreach support to the Reagan National Defense Forum (RNDF 2021)
●       Administrative and marketing support for the LTAP Spring 2021 and Summer 2021 programs
●       Research support for the Reaganism Podcast
●       Support the LTAP Alumni Ambassador Program
●       Data refining and organization related to various programs
●       Research and support for the Westminster 2.0 Working Group
●       Miscellaneous administrative support
●       Other duties as assigned

Skills
Desired skills for RRI Interns include:
●       Understanding of basic research skills -- both background and policy
●       Data organization and analysis
○       Including but not limited to Microsoft Excel
●       Ability to draft professional memorandums and communications
●       Ability to craft social media posts and create graphics content is preferred
●       Collaborative spirit and team-minded orientation
 
Requirements:
Applicants must:
●       Be 18 years of age or older and provide evidence of full time enrollment at a local university.
●       Experience working in an office setting.
●       Adaptability and ability to self start.
●       Maintain a professional appearance and correspondence.
●       Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

The RRI internship will begin mid January and conclude in early/mid May. Interns will be expected to work approx. 15-34 hours/week. Internships can be part time on a case-by-case basis.

Students should consult with academic faculty to determine if this unpaid experience will earn credit.
