SOAR Coordinator (2020-88)

The primary responsibilities will be to assist individuals who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness to engage in applying for SSI/SSDI entitlements. This work will focus on completing SOAR applications with staff following SOAR protocols as established by MDHHS. Staff will track applications through the system. Staff will conduct onsite interviews and assessments.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are providing as many services as possible through Telehealth. Many employees are able to work from home during this time. For employees who do need to work on-site or see individuals in person, we provide Personal Protection Equipment to our employees and thorough safety and cleaning protocols are in place. Job interviews are being conducted via the internet. Starting wage: $18.74

Minimum Qualifications Include:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW)
  • Certified as SOAR trained or able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment  
  • Experience with SOAR training and SSI and SSDI applications preferred
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use
  • Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities
