Victim and Survivor Advocate


The University of Nebraska at Omaha is seeking a
Victim and Survivor Advocate
Gender and Sexuality Resource Center

This position serves as the UNO and UNMC case manager and victim and survivor advocate for Office of Violence Against Women Grants to Reduce Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking on Campus Program titled:
OMAHA CONSORTIUM OF UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA VICTIM AND SURVIVOR PROGRAMMING AND SERVICES.
This position will provide direct service, confidential non-emergency crisis counseling, referrals, and advocacy to campus community members who seek support as a result of sexual, gender, and relationship violence. Additionally, the victim and survivor advocate will support the educational and programmatic needs of the grant requirements. The staffer will coordinate UNO and UNMC campus and community resources to support survivors of interpersonal violence.
This is a three-year Department of Justice grant funded position.
Required Qualifications:
·        A Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, health education, criminal justice, education, public administration or other relevant area.
·        Two years experience and knowledge in student Support Services, victim and survivor services and program, or related leadership experience in education programs working with survivors of sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking.
·        Two years of administrative and budget experience.
·        Experience with trauma and interpersonal violence counseling or advocacy.
·        Valid driver’s license.
·        Will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Information: Maximum $48,000, non-negotiable
