Bilingual Crisis Residential Clinician - Support Children's Mental Health
Seneca’s Ventura County Crisis Program provides crisis stabilization and short-term residential treatment for youth in serious distress. This groundbreaking program provides a “no eject, no reject” policy to meet the needs of the youth in our care. Our collaborative decision-making process enables each individual youth and family to safely communicate their needs, in order to leverage their strengths, talents, and cultural and ecological resources. Services include linkage to long-term, sustainable supports based on each client’s unique strengths and needs.
The Bilingual (Spanish/English) Crisis Residential Clinician provides family-based mental health counseling, therapy, crisis intervention and case management services to children and families in a small, two-bed Short Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP) that is part of the continuum of care offered within our Ventura County Crisis Services for youth. The Crisis Residential Clinician is responsible for managing day to day therapeutic activities. The Crisis Residential clinician is part of a of the treatment team, working closely with the program psychiatrist and managers.
Seneca supports clinicians towards licensure and beyond. We provide individual and group supervision, regular clinical case conferences, and licensure and renewal courses led by field experts. Expenses such as outside trainings or licensure fees can be mitigated though your clinical training stipend, and you will receive a $4000 salary increase upon getting licensed. Responsibilities
- Serve as the clinical lead and work with the treatment team to provide crisis intervention and other mental health services as needed at the COMPASS STRTP.
- Provide individual and family therapy, structured family therapy, and case management services to ensure the successful transition of clients and their families to community-based providers.
- Demonstrates strong ability to facilitate family and discharge meetings utilizing solutions focused interventions while continually engaging in risk assessment.
- Demonstrates competence in diagnostic assessment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or other Seneca Management.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work or counseling required
- Must be registered or licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Services
- Bilingual in Spanish required
- Experience providing individual and family therapy strongly preferred
- Experience working with youth preferred
- Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
- Own vehicle, valid California Drivers License and insurance
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work with a diverse population
Schedule
- Full-time
- Some on-call responsibilities
- Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
