Salary: Licensed RN's $26.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience
      Licensed LPN's $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience

Provides professional level nursing services that require the application of basic nursing principles, practices and techniques following established healthcare procedures and standards. Employees in this role usually operate in a patient care environment where the focus is on the healthcare of individuals. To be successful in this role, employees seek guidance and advice from more experienced colleagues and are focused on gaining the knowledge and experience to perform more independently and participate in work of higher complexity. Reduced tuition for continuing education. Signing bonus and moving allowance. Some flexibility of shift may be available.
Nurses work in a long-term care setting at the new South Dakota State Veterans Home built in 2015.
On-site housing may be available, cost is dependent on square footage.
Licenses and Certifications: 
Must be licensed or be eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Dakota (Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree or 3-year Diploma). New graduates welcome, on the job training is available. Nursing level depends on qualifications and experience of the incumbent. All certificates and/or tests required for performance at this level must be obtained and/or completed. LPN's also considered.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Knowledge of:
  • professional nursing theory and practices;
  • recent development in the field of professional nursing applicable to the area of assignment;
  • clinical procedures.
Ability to:
  • keep records;
  • follow instructions;
  • operate a variety of medical equipment;
  • make reports on observations;
  • apply general nursing techniques and practices;
  • maintain a helpful and sympathetic attitude toward patients;
  • communicate effectively;
  • deal effectively with patients and staff.
