Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare is a residential treatment facility that serves adolescent males (ages 12 to 18) with intellectual disabilities, psychiatric disorders, and behavioral problems. As part of the Staunton, Virginia community for more than 15 years, Liberty Point has provided treatment, education, rehabilitation, recreation, and cultural exposure through community outings, while also providing a safe environment. Our program prepares these young men for return to a home, a less restrictive environment, or to independent living.
Our primary focus is on encouraging constructive change and personal growth, learning positive ways to get appropriate attention, improving behavior choices, developing a sense of responsibility for actions, learning problem-solving skills, and developing thinking patterns that support positive relationships.
The Counselor/Therapist will provide mental health treatment services for residents and their families. This includes individual, family, and group therapy, as well as scheduling and facilitation of treatment team reviews and timely documentation. Required skills, knowledge, and abilities must be documented and observable in the application form and interview.
Must be licensed (LPC, LCSW, etc.) or license eligible.
