Long Island Environmental Community Empowerment Organizer

Since 1985, Citizens Campaign for the Environment has been on the forefront of fighting for the protection of Long Island's air and water resources through grassroots-level campaigning. The rapid degradation of coastal habitats, waterways, and drinking water across Long Island is concerning for ourselves and our future generations. So on a local, statewide, and national level, we advocate for the maintenance and preservation of open space/wildlife habitats, the elimination of toxins from our water supply, and the implementation of cleaner/environmentally sustainable practices. We are looking for folks who are passionate about and committed to being leaders in educating, activating, and empowering local citizens to become a united and effective voice on Long Island’s environmental politics.
As we reenter back in to post-covid, we have the opportunity on a grassroots level to fight against injustices causing pollution in our air and water from fossil fuels and toxic chemicals from antiquated pipes. When need folks to support an economic stimulus package that prioritizes our public and environmental health. This emphasizes investing in renewable energy sources and clean water infrastructure.
