(Remote) Graphic Design Intern for a Large-scale Learning/Research Platform
1Cademy is an innovative, large-scale online collaborative learning and research platform at the University of Michigan School of Information. We are looking for a Graphic Design intern who is passionate about digital assets and Team collaboration.
We are an interdisciplinary group of researchers at the University of Michigan School of Information. We’ve developed a large-scale online collaborative learning and research platform.
Role Description
- All communications, task completion, and team activities will be online.
- Participants will work in a team-led environment under the leadership of Iman Yeckehzaare, a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Information, and will regularly report their accomplishments in weekly online team meetings.

Responsibilities
- Conceptualizing consistent visuals based on requirements and amend designs after feedback.
- Creating graphic design guidelines to maintain consistency.
- Collaborating with user experience researchers and user interface designers to create visuals for the platform, including graphics and banners.
- Regularly updating visuals as the web app evolves.
- Ensure final visuals and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
- Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines.
Minimum qualifications
- Experience with creating online style guidelines, images and graphics using design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premier and Figma.
- Strong understanding of the principles of UX, web information architecture, graphic design, web design, branding, composition, and typography.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with conceptualization, wireframing, and presenting your designs for online platforms.
- Experience working in an agile development process.
- Excellent skills to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Keep up with the latest design trends and technologies.
