Sales Engineer

Caster Concepts Inc. is a manufacturer of material handling equipment - casters, wheels, conveyor components - that supplies to manufacturers all across North America. We are currently searching for sales engineers to help us service our customers better, grow the business, and help us with our goal to rebuild the Albion, MI community.

Successful sales engineers are analytical and curious in nature, and not afraid to make a decision on a product to help solve a material handling problem. They can be extroverted or introverted, but possess the emotional intelligence to read a situation and interact with people from the C-suite down to entry level positions. That are not afraid to ask tough questions to get to the heart of the situation. They are also disciplined in nature and able to follow a sales process.

This job provides a generous base salary plus commissions on sales. There is no cap on commissions so there is unlimited earning potential for dedicated sales engineers. We also have health, dental, and vision insurance, 401K with match, life insurance, etc.

Responsibilities:
  • Work customer accounts according to their defined account management action plans. This includes regular emails, phone calls, etc. to help build the relationship and continued success.
  • Mine existing customer lists for customers that have decreased purchases and work to rebuild relationships
  • Maintain and work a list of prospects to grow the territory
  • Use Salesforce to document activities and notes
  • Use the Sandler Selling System
  • 50% travel required - 10 hotel nights per month

Skills needed
  • Excellent communication skills with inside sales partner, sales leadership team, engineering support team, customers and prospects.
  • Ability to take prospects through the Caster Concepts sales process to qualify and define potential of the prospect.
  • A natural curiosity about prospects and customers – their businesses, challenges and role they play individually in their organization – in order to better understand how CCI fits into their needs.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Maintaining an online visible schedule
  • Processing quotations in a timely manner
  • Ability to clearly document activities and interactions with prospects and customers so the information can be used by multiple people to maximize the sales effort and gross margins
  • Ability to properly use the upfront contract when setting face to face appointments, and to clearly document points in writing for both the outside sales rep and the prospect/customer.
  • Flexibility to adapt to organizational needs
  • A positive, friendly, outgoing demeanor. Willing to accept responsibility and be a team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong emotional intelligence
