POSITION SUMMARY:
The Scientist - Emerging Technology and Cancer Biology partners with clinicians, product managers, and key opinion leaders to transform oncology products. Initiates directs and executes pre-clinical scientific research.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with scientists, product managers, and key opinion leaders to transform product requirements into technical specifications for future oncology products using circulating tumor DNA
  • Collaborate with molecular biologists, computational biologists, and statisticians to build research strategies that solve challenging problems in oncology
  • Assist in the execution of data and statistical analysis to explore biological, scientific, and clinical questions in oncology and translating results to impact patient care
  • Communicate results and findings of analyses to cross-functional teams, academic researchers and collaborate to publish findings in high impact journals
  • This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and has access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job. 
  • An employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire
  • Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements.
  • The employee must pass post-offer criminal background check.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B.S/M.S in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Genetics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or Cancer Biology.
  • Minimum of 0-3 years of relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Working knowledge of data mining and statistical analysis tools (R, STATA, SAS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of cancer biology
  • Knowledge of SQL query language (preferred not required)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Able to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to proactively identify risks and address with a solutions-oriented approach
  • Excellent attention to detail; produces work of exceptional quality and accuracy
  • Ability to manage collaborative and individual projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to apply independent scientific judgment in experimental design and analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills will be needed in our fast-paced team
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities.
