Location:  Grand Rapids, MI
Hours:  Full-time (40 hours/week)

As a Case Manager you will provide casework and supportive services to children in foster care, foster families and biological families referred to Refugee and Immigrant Services program.

 Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Meet weekly with supervisor to consult on cases, to review case plan and direction and to evaluate client participation and progress.
  •  Keep abreast of community resources and refer families for support as needed.
  •  Maintain effective communication with community agencies or individuals involved in service provision.
  •  Attend training provided internally and in the community and apply newly gained knowledge in providing services.
  •  Be available as co-therapist as appropriate.
  •  Available to translate both written and verbal communication for program clientele and staff.
  •  Assist in the study of and licensure of foster families.
  •  Arrange for at least monthly meetings with foster parents and foster children.
  •  Prepare for and be in attendance at required court hearings.
  •  Provide transportation for clients as needed.
  •  Maintain accurate, up-to-date information on foster children in care while meeting ORR and Bethany's documentation and reporting requirements.
  •  Assist in the training of new staff.
  •  Facilitate and assist in providing on-going education and support services for foster parents.
  •  Attend education and support meetings provided to foster parents.
  •  Lead or co-lead a therapeutic or educational group.
  •  Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • BSW or BA/BS in a human service field.
  •  Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  •  Demonstrate excellent clinical, therapeutic and crisis intervention skills.
  •  Demonstrate verbal and written communications skills.
  •  Eligible to obtain professional licensure or registration.
  •  Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions.
  •  Maintain a reliable automobile with adequate insurance coverage.
  •  Knowledge of state, community and agency resources.
  •  Prior work experience with refugee or minority families and demonstrates cross-cultural sensitivity.
  •  Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Cultural Diversity Commitment.

Desired Qualifications:
  •  MSW or MA/MS in human service field.
  •  More than two years previous experience.
