POSITION SUMMARY
Kapnick Insurance Group is seeking motivated students to join our team as a 2020 summer intern! Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding paid internship with one of Michigan's Top Work Places and Cool Places to Work? Our interns will receive hands on training and support from their managers and mentors, will support the day-to-day operations of their department and have the opportunity to work on various marketing projects.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
· Lead migration of all large Property Management clients into Microsoft Access
· Create carrier specific procedures for processes used to service clients
· Gather documents, information and applications necessary in preparation for renewal marketing of insurance policies
· Research and secure expiration dates (6 hours per week)
· Be a part of a privately held professional service firm providing business insurance, employee benefits, personal insurance, risk management and financial strategies to a vast and diverse base of clients worldwide. 
· Build relationships with department stakeholders and contribute toward company and department goals 
· Tackle special projects and assignments as instructed by manager 
· Collaborate with department staff to contribute on various processes and projects 
· Attend our annual fun corporate Spring It On event 
· Collaborate with all interns to create a companywide Intern Lunch and Learn presentation 
· One on one time with over 25 employees, where you have the opportunity to interview, learn and network 
· Opportunity to spend a day volunteering in our communities 
 · Participate in our carrier exchange program

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Current college student with a minimal completion of 1-year concentration in
Business, Insurance, Economics, Communications, Accounting, Finance,
Mathematics, Marketing, or related degree.
 
Experience: No prior insurance experience necessary
 
Computer Skills: Familiarity with computer equipment, desire to learn software required to complete job functions, and knowledge of Microsoft office
 Other Requirements: Innovative thinker, self-motivated, ability to meet deadlines, problem solving skills, comfortable meeting new people, proven track record as an excellent team player, willing to run with a project, outstanding communication and customer service skills.
