Employee Benefits Insurance Analyst Intern

POSITION SUMMARY
Kapnick Insurance Group is seeking motivated students to join our team as a 2020 summer intern! Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding paid internship with one of Michigan's Top Work Places and Cool Places to Work? Our interns will receive hands on training and support from their managers and mentors, will support the day-to-day operations of their department and have the opportunity to work on various projects.

Essential Functions:
· Assist departments with day-to-day tasks and procedures 
· Assist with creation of Custom Benchmark Analysis
· Data intake for Financial Analysis
· Help coordinate creation of Placement Market Analysis
· Gain an understanding of key insurance functions through on the job training and development
· Assist department with day-to-day tasks and procedures
· Be a part of a privately held professional service firm providing business insurance, employee benefits, personal insurance, risk management and financial strategies to a vast and diverse base of clients worldwide. 
· Tackle special projects and assignments as instructed by manager
· Collaborate with department staff to contribute on various processes and projects
· Attend our annual fun corporate Spring It On event
· Collaborate with all interns to create a company wide Intern Lunch and Learn presentation
· Spend one on one time with over 25 employees, where you have the opportunity to interview, learn and network
 · Opportunity to volunteer in the community
· Participate in our carrier exchange program
· Perform your job in such a manner that other employees will consider it a pleasure and privilege to work with you
· Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of the job
· Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Current college student with a minimal completion of 1 year concentration in Business,                                          Insurance, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics preferred.
 
Experience: No prior insurance experience necessary
 
Computer Skills: Strong Excel skills, willingness to adopt new tools and learn new technology.
