COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
This is a shared position under the supervision of the Director of Community and Neighborhood Services, and Community and Economic Development. This position will assist in office management, policy analysis of the Block Grant Program, and compliance with federal guidelines. Serves in various capacities to the Neighborhood Associations of Muskegon (NAM) Citizens District Council (CDC), and the Rental Rehabilitation Program. Responsible for reviewing housing assistance applications, the management of office information systems (IDIS), and oversees the contractor's list. 

REQUIRED MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. A Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Planning, Public Relations, or related field OR Associate Degree plus 2 years of experience in appropriate work experience considered.
  2. A minimum of 1 year of land disposition/acquisition, and/or intake specialist/caseload or social service experience wherein the typical duties listed are experienced.
