Alternative Education Teacher
Required Qualifications:
● Valid Michigan teaching certificate.
● Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.
● Alternative applicable qualifications may be considered.
Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:
A successful candidate will possess:
· Knowledge of technology, preferably Kickstand.
● Successful experience working with middle/high school-age students.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Knowledge of content expectations/standards pertinent to the grade level.
● Knowledge of best practices in classroom instruction and technology integration.
● Experience working as part of a collaborative team.
A successful candidate will be able to:
· Oversee and instruct independent study courses.
· Develop and use strategies to improve student achievement in all core content areas.
· Effectively utilize classroom discipline strategies while providing positive reinforcement.
· Contribute to a professional learning team.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.
