Accounting / Investor Relations Intern
Internships with Blackford Capital provide students and young professionals an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in small, team-oriented working environment. The intern will serve a key functional role on the Accounting and Investor Relations team to drive value within the organization. They will interact internally with all other teams and organizational leaders to help accomplish Blackford Capital’s goals. This internship position will report directly to the Investor Relations Manager, with strong ties to the Accounting team and will specifically provide support in the following areas:
- Review and distribution of 1,000+ tax documents
- Assist in gathering and presenting of materials for 20+ independent financial audits
- Assist in organization and validation of customer data across multiple platforms
- Assist in drafting of communications to investors
- Assist in preparation of materials for meetings with investors
- Other data validation and office duties as needed
Ideal Candidate Experience and Qualifications:
- Pursuing educational degree in Finance or Accounting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing
- Incredibly detail-oriented
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel, and an ability to learn computer programs quickly
- Can display a professional demeanor in presentation and behavior
- Ability to take direction, manage multiple tasks, work in fast paced environment, and always willing to ask for clarification or help when necessary
- Dependable, mature, and able to work independently
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment and initiative
- Perfect sense of discretion and ability to be 100% confidential
