Data Integration and Analytics Student Intern

Note: This position is a temporary, limited term assignment.

The Data Integration and Analytics Student Intern performs routine (entry-level) duties related to improving and processing data. Work involves supporting agency operations with a primary focus on gaining practical work experience and business skills while scrubbing data, testing scripts, performing quality control on data and data storage, and enabling data access. Works under close supervision with limited latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

This position will start June and will end in August, 2020. 
Salary will be dependent upon education level:
Undergraduate (Junior or Senior) - $13.50/hour
Graduate or Law School Student - $17.00/hour

Duties and Responsibilities
• Works on a selection of IMD (Investment Management Division) data feeds, which may include database objects (functions, views) and jobs (stored procedures, SSIS, Talend).
• Assist with code development and error troubleshooting. 
• Provides support and collaborates with release management activities.
• May assist in reviewing agency policies and procedures, and recommending changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Completes development/maintenance tasks during IDS sprints.
Performs other duties as required 

Minimum Required Qualifications
 
Education:
Classification will depend on qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in and actively attending an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student with a declared major in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other relevant program AND within 12 months of graduation; OR
• Currently enrolled as a graduate student (Master or Doctoral) in an Information Technology, Computer Science, or other relevant program.
• Applicant will be required to submit a copy of official college transcripts.
 
Experience:
• Basic academic or work experience in SQL.
 
Registration, Certification, or Licensure:
• None.
 
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with code development, error troubleshooting, release management, documentation, and production support.
• Letter(s) of recommendation from program professor(s) are strongly encouraged.
