Public Relations Intern
Available and able to work Monday-Friday 7:30 am-4:15 pm, from mid-May to early to mid-August.
Student will be tasked with multiple duties including:
- Press release writing, website content updating, production/editing of educational videos, documenting (including photos and content) road construction projects, updating/distributing of brochures, attending meetings and interacting with the staff and the public.
- Create video news releases; videos will be used to educate the public on various RCOC functions while providing the intern with a good opportunity for interaction with the staff and public.
- Intern will also create/give a presentation on the completed projects at the end of the internship.
The intern will have a chance to work on material that helps educate the public on how the RCOC operates; especially on road projects. The goal of this internship is to provide the student with on the job experience in Public Relations and Media Communications.
Skills Required:
- The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Customer service or public speaking skills are preferred
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience utilizing digital media technologies
- Intern should possess strong organizational skills and complete all work in a timely manner
Education/Certifications:
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level student pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Media Communications, Broadcasting, Digital Media, or other related majors.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Valid Driver’s License
