The Internship program at Gordon Food Service is a paid 13-week summer program designed to provide a learning experience outside of the classroom to high potential students with interest in our company. We value this opportunity to deepen relationships across the company, community, and university environments, while also bringing new ideas and talent to our teams. The internship experience at GFS includes individual projects, mentoring, final presentations and evaluations.
As an Intern at Gordon Food Service you, under general supervision, will perform support tasks as directed involving administering a specialized program or performing a specialized assignment in a specific department.

As a Dietetic Intern, you will assist the team in the Nutrition Resource Center with providing customers with the most accurate nutrition data as well as create nutrition and food safety materials.

Over the course of the summer, you can expect to:
  • Load nutrition and allergen data in the nutrition database for the health-care menu program, Cycle Menu Management
  • Assist in the creation of food safety and Nutrition Resource Center marketing materials including, but not limited to, training topics, newsletter e-mail and/or nutrition article
  • Assist Gordon Food Service customers and sales by supporting the Nutrition Resource Center hotline and e-mail
Responsibilities will include:
  • Support Nutrition Resource Center Registered Dietitians
  • Support nutrition database with assistance from Nutrition Resource Center team
  • Assist with creation of tools and resources to support customers.
Program requirements and qualifications:
  • Must have at least one semester or more left of school to complete at the beginning of the internship (a senior who has already graduated will not be considered for an internship)
  • Graduation date between December 2020 and August 2021
  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor program in Dietetics, with the intent to complete and become a Registered Dietitian
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; (transcript required upon submission of application)
  • Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with Google applications is a plus
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
