Wildlife Technician 8-E10 - Gaylord

Job Description
This position performs a wide variety of wildlife management support activities, primarily in 5 counties and the Gaylord and Pigeon River Country Forest Management Units. Position coordinates and implements state land wildlife openings management, waterfowl banding, wetland maintenance and management, and crop damage investigations and permit management activities in the Gaylord field unit. The position also provides public service at the Gaylord CSC and other locations in the NL Region. In addition, incumbent supports biologist activities in the NL Region which requires a working knowledge of wildlife population management issues including nuisance wildlife, wildlife surveys, and wildlife disease. The incumbent is a facility manager and is responsible for ensuring Wildlife Division equipment and buildings are in safe operational order and supplies are adequate to accomplish assigned work. 
Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of an associate's degree in wildlife biology, wildlife technology, wildlife management, or agriculture.
Experience

Wildlife Technician 8
No specific type or amount is required.
Wildlife Technician 9
One year of experience performing technical wildlife management support activities, equivalent to a Wildlife Technician 8.
Wildlife Technician E10
Two years of experience performing technical wildlife management support activities equivalent to a Wildlife Technician, including one year equivalent to a Wildlife Technician 9.
Alternate Education and Experience
Wildlife Technician E10
Possession of a bachelor's degree or higher with 16 semester (24 term) credits in job specific or related course work may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
