MDOT Transportation Planner - System Monitoring & Reporting

This position is responsible for determining annexation, Act 425 agreement, incorporation, and other city/village boundary validity and closure. The role of this position includes the support and preparation of MDOT business data for use within the Roads and Highways workflow environment; producing reports and summaries as assigned; performing spatial analysis tasks related to transportation related topics, as well as acting in a supporting role for MDOT's deployment of ArcGIS Online are two areas of growth opportunity for this position; and performing duties related to research, coordination, development, and implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology on a department-wide basis. This position will also prepare maps, reports, and summaries as needed.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, resource development, engineering, statistics, mathematics, geography, economics or a related field.
 
Experience
 
Transportation Planner 9
No specific type or amount is required.
 
Transportation Planner 10
One year of professional experience in the planning and assessment of transportation planner systems equivalent to a Transportation Planner 9.
 
Transportation Planner P11
Two years of professional experience in the planning and assessment of transportation planner systems equivalent to a Transportation Planner, including one year equivalent to a Transportation Planner 10.
