Departmental Specialist 13 - Curriculum Development Specialist

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.

This position serves as the staff specialist and training expert in support of training and curriculum development activities for procurement/purchasing in the State of Michigan. This position is the single dedicated resource and subject matter expert for procurement training in the Professional Development Section of DTMB Central Procurement Services. This position conducts all phases of training design, and development that is administered to approximately 4000 staff responsible for nearly $2.5 billion in spend across all state agencies. This position is instrumental in positioning the State of Michigan as a leader in procurement training among state governments. Responsibilities include creation, development, and implementation of seven or more highly complex "Achievement in Michigan (AMP)" and other training and certification programs. This position creates interactive training tools and other web-based training, training content and materials development for hundreds of complex topics and performs and organizes staff and end-user training. This position is responsible for ensuring that proper procurement methods, procedures, and processes are being trained statewide based on current policy and law and has direct responsibility for the completed product (training and certification). Each of the training and certification programs has a key financial and material impact on the State of Michigan's operations, departments, and staff.

Note: The salary range for this position is $25.51 to $38.07/hour.
